Not every store needs a controlled atmosphere. A conventional cold store holds temperature and humidity without managing the gas mix, at a lower capital cost per MT, and suits potatoes, onions, pulses, dairy and frozen goods. The same envelope disciplines apply: floor insulation, a continuous vapour barrier and doors that seal.
What we have built
For Shiva Agri Fresh at Digadhaar, Oddi, Kumarsain, in Shimla district, a cold store delivered as civil, insulation, electrical and refrigeration. For JK Foods, part of the JK Organization, the civil work for a warehouse and frozen food project at Gajraula, Amroha, now under construction.
For PWD Punjab at Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda, the design and renovation of an existing building into a cold store, warehouse and farmer recreation centre, including the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the machinery. It is a useful precedent for any promoter who owns a building and wants a store inside it.
How we size the enquiry
Capacity in MT, the commodity and its storage temperature, the number of chambers, and whether you need a chill room, a freezer or both. For a frozen store the floor detail matters more than anywhere else: heave under a freezer floor is expensive to fix later, so the sub-floor insulation and heating are designed before the slab is poured.
Blast freezing, IQF and pre-cooling lines are specified with the equipment supplier once the commodity and throughput are known. How a CA store gets built covers the stages that a cold store shares.
